VoiceXML Migration
For many companies, the first VoiceXML project consists in migrating legacy IVR applications to a new, standards-based, VoiceXML platform. The trigger for such a project is often the fact that their current IVR platform is about to become end-of-life and therefore needs to be replaced. The overwhelming majority of companies in this situation naturally decide to use VoiceXML.

Because switching to VoiceXML means that IVR applications will henceforth become Web applications, a number of novel questions must be answered before the project can start. For instance: What tools should be used to develop the IVR applications? Is a specialized service creation environment necessary? Will it be possible to re-use the company's existing Web service creation environments? Will it be possible to share business logic between the web and the IVR? And so on.

Since each company's situation is different, the responses to these questions are likely to be company specific. Nü Echo has helped many of its clients navigate through such considerations and select the responses that are the most appropriate for their particular situation and environment. Our engagements have ranged from pure consultation to turn-key VoiceXML migration projects. In many cases, these projects have involved the design and implementation of an application framework specifically tailored to address the client's requirements.
